DADDY/DAUGHTER DATE...with pencils

While my son is in Karate class, my 5 year old daughter and I pass the hour in the other room by reading, drawing, goofing around, whatever. Today, she saw I had brought two pencils along, along with my crossword puzzles. She handed me the green one and took the pink one and insisted we played pencils. So, my green pencil was standing there, waiting for the bus. The pink pencil came along, huffing and mumbling "Where IS he? That jerk..." Pink went up to Green and asked if he wanted to marry her. Green said "I don't even know you!"

Pink: My name used to be Jessica. Now it's...um...Esperanza."
Green: ESPERANZA!??!
Pink: Yeah
Green: (laughing to myself) Alright
Pink: Want to go on a date?
Green: Sure

We end up going to a restaurant. I drew a table and chairs on a piece of paper and the pencils "stood" on the chairs. Pink assumed I was green because I loved salad, so we drew plates of salad on our table and proceeded to eat them. "Eating" consists of drawing over the food. Then we drew drinks. Pink drew ice in hers.

Green: So, what do you do?
Pink: I quit my job
Green: What DID you do?
Pink: OH, it was an AWFUL, awful awful job. I had to make chili!
Green: I love chili! You were a chef?
Pink: Yes, but I also had to clean the men's room!
Green: Oh my god!
Pink: Yeah, and...(whispering) one time I saw a man's poop!
Green: Oh yuk!
Pink: Yeah, and there was peanut butter everywhere!
Green: ...peanut butter...
Pink: (laughing) yeah, and it got all over me so don't touch me!
Green: didn't you wash up?
Pink: yeah but I had to leave that job so now I don't work there anymore
Green: well, good!

We then ordered cheesecake for dessert. The waiter was a rolled up magazine. Pink insisted it be strawberry cheesecake.
We drew all over the cheesecake and then sat there, full. My daughter started shaking the chair we were leaning on and took Pink away.

Green: AN EARTHQUAKE!
My daughter: (whispering) no, it was a dream!
Pink came back in and asked what happened. I explained about the earthquake but Pink explained that she had gone to the bathroom and Green must have fallen asleep and dreamed the earthquake.

That was pretty much it. The Karate class ended and we went home.
